Paul Smith is a British contemporary designer who is most famous for his colourful stripes in his attire for Men.
He originally wanted to become a racing cyclist but after a very bad accident this was no longer an option. He spent 6 months in hospital recovering in which time he got friendly with other patients. These acquaintances later introduced him to the world of art and colour which inspired him to start designing fashion garments.
In 1979 he opened his first shop in Nottingham. He started showing his collections in Paris and in 1987 he opened his first store in New York. He became internationally known after his success in Japan.
Paul Smith perfume has been first launched in 2000. In the same year he managed to produce Paul Smith Men and Paul Smith Women and had since released over 10 scents for both genders.
